Bourgogne Blanc 'En Jarre' Maison Lou Dumont - Koji Nakada 2023
The Bourgogne Blanc 'En Jarre' by Maison Lou Dumont is a Burgundian Chardonnay made from grapes hand-picked in the Côte de Beaune. This wine represents one of the most unique projects of Koji Nakada, a Japanese producer who moved to Burgundy in the 1990s to pursue the dream of making wine in the region. The choice of aging in amphora, referenced by the name on the label, aims to enhance the most direct expression of the fruit and the mineral component, limiting the influence of wood and highlighting the character of Chardonnay. The nose reveals clear aromas of yellow apple, lemon peel, ripe citrus, and white flowers, accompanied by light chalky and stony nuances. The sip shows good tension, balanced freshness, and a marked savoriness that accompanies the drinking experience continuously. It pairs naturally with delicate seafood preparations such as baked turbot with potatoes and aromatic herbs
