The Etna Rosso “Alta Mora” is an intense, soft and elegant wine born from the Cusumano vineyards on the slopes of Etna, aged in large barrels for 6 months. It emanates Mediterranean and spicy aromas of woodland herbs, roots, graphite and berries. The sip is velvety, balanced, elegant and enveloping, supported by a nice freshness

This Etna Rosso “Alta Mora” is born from the ambitious project of Diego and Alberto, owners of Cusumano, to extend their holdings on the slopes of the volcano Etna. A desire that came to life in 2013, with the acquisition of some plots, from which the first wines of the Etna project of the winery, named Alta Mora, were born. Already after a few years of production, it is clear how the wines produced here by Cusumano are becoming protagonists, as this Etna Rosso well testifies, whose characteristics have earned excellent recognition both nationally and internationally.

This “Alta Mora” Etna Rosso wine is made by the Cusumano winery using pure grapes from a great indigenous red grape variety, Nerello Mascalese. This variety is trained using the spalliera and alberello methods, in volcanic matrix vineyards, located at about 600-800 meters above sea level, within the districts of Verzella, Pietramarina, Feudo di Mezzo, and Solicchiata, in the municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia. The grapes, once harvested, are gently pressed, and then fermented, macerating for 12 days in steel, also undergoing malolactic fermentation. The aging phase then follows, which lasts for 6 months in large oak barrels of 25 hectoliters.

The Etna Rosso "Alta Mora" presents itself visually with a color reminiscent of garnet, with intense and compact notes. The bouquet of aromas enveloping the nose reveals a whirlwind of varied scents, shifting from spicy to fruity, also touching on aromas that recall the Mediterranean scrub. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, with an elegant structure, moving with a very charming velvety sip, characterized by a pleasant freshness. A bottle signed by Cusumano, ideal for sipping alongside main courses based on red meat or game.
